Non Vented Tank (Closed Water Pump System) This uses a heavy-duty car windscreen washer type pump to force water into the bottom of a sealed ballast tank compressing the stored air above it to dive the boat. To surface a valve opens to allow the compressed air to force the water back out of the tank. INFO A heavy duty water car windscreen washer pump can be used as the pump. ADVANTAGES Can dive vertically without any forward speed. Depth control can be more accurate. Can be trimmed to a proper scale surface waterline. A fail-safe can be fitted to open the valve if the radio signal is lost. DISADVANTAGES Parts are a little more expensive. A stronger storage vessel is required for the higher pressure air.
